Sense of a Greek Island in Athens!

If you want to get a sense of Greek Island like the blue of the sea, the smell of the Ouzo and the fish meze, you definitely must visit the Mikrolimano.

It is located near Neo Faliro train station, and it belongs to Pireaus, so it is very easy to approach it. Mikrolimano in greek means small port, and actually, it is a small port, small fishing boats, and sailboats are plenty there. From Varoulko which is a high-class fish restaurant from a famous Greek Chef to a typical greek fish tavern with fish meze like Ammos.

The choices are plenty, after finishing your lunch or your dinner do not forget to visit Istioploikos all-day bar and enjoy a coffee or a drink when you gaze at the horizon of the blue sea under the Greek sun, just for relaxing and clear your mind out of the stressful thoughts of the city rhythms.

If you like walking, after Istioploikos on the road at the main entrance it starts a really interesting walking ride, the whole ride with an amazing sea view, if you follow the left road after 15-20 minutes you will arrive at Pasalimani, grab a fresh Italian gelato at Argiro’s ice-cream shop, you would just love it, the pedestrian street above the sea does not finish there, it has a big ride until it finishes at the Pireaus port. If you follow the right road you will be above Mikrolimano which it’s also great and picturesque, on this ride you will meet two amazing places for having a drink from the top, one is Don Kihotis(cool bar for grabbing a beer) and the other is Mira(more luxury place for enjoying a cocktail), the ride finishes where it starts at Neo Faliro train station.

All these tips are what I propose to all of my friends that coming from other parts of Greece or from outside of the country and nothing more… Everybody, in the end, has the same surprised expression and wellbeing feeling after facing all these images…
